Biography

Alexandra E. Vozzella is a partner of Ayres, Shelton, Williams, Benson & Paine, LLC, where she primarily handles commercial litigation, including business disputes and breach of contract claims, along with employment related claims, property disputes, and estate and succession disputes. She has also extensively litigated oil, gas, and energy cases, as well as products liability claims. Additionally, she represents a local political subdivision and has gained extensive experience in government law, including open meetings law, public records law, and public bid law.

Since returning to her hometown of Shreveport and joining Ayres, Shelton, Williams, Benson & Paine, LLC, Alex has gained substantial litigation experience, including pre-trial motions and hearings, arbitration experience, and jury and bench trial experience. Most recently, Alex and one of her law partners obtained a successful verdict for their client in a highly complex breach of contract matter following a seven-day jury trial. She also recently prevailed in the arbitration of a complicated and highly contested commercial dispute, recovering both a substantial award and attorney fees for her client.

Alex’s professional recognitions include Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch 2023; Super Lawyer, Louisiana Rising Star (Litigation) 2020-2023; and being named one of Shreveport-Bossier’s Top Attorneys by SB Magazine 2022-2023. Alex is a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Shreveport Bar Association. She is admitted to practice in all Louisiana district and appellate courts and the Louisiana Supreme Court, along with all federal district courts sitting in Louisiana and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. Alex is admitted to practice in Louisiana and Texas.

Alex obtained her BA in Mass Communication from Louisiana State University in 2012 and then graduated magna cum laude from Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert Law Center in 2016 with her JD and Graduate Diploma in Comparative Law. While in law school, Alex received the Paul M. Hebert Scholar Award, Dean’s Scholar Award, and several CALI Awards for Excellence. She was also a member of the Public Interest Law Society, and, as a 3L, was picked to participate in the law school’s first tutoring program, where she tutored 1L’s in Basic Civil Procedure.
